Durham’s sushi and Asian restaurants cluster downtown, where the M Restaurants group runs five dining rooms within a few blocks, and on Ninth Street by Duke’s East Campus. A second group is in south Durham along University Drive, Hope Valley Road and NC 54, with more on Page Road and South Miami Boulevard near Research Triangle Park.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Durham’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 12, 2026. M Pocha was added from the M Restaurants site. National chains (P.F. Chang’s, Panda Express, Noodles & Company) and buffets are left out. Kanki’s Durham page is gone, the Urban Noodle and Dimsum Asian Bistro sites no longer load as their own, and JuJu, Kokyu, Ping Pong, Tasu Express, Thai 55 and Neo Japan did not show an address and hours we could read.
